Something terrible had happened in the old Tyler house high on the Yorkshire Moors, but it was 1960 and twelve year old Cordy often played at the abandoned building with her friends. Then newcomers move in and Cordy meets Fay and wonderful Fred whose care of their children Holly Jane and Edward is in contrast to Cordy's severe upbringing.
