Should my style prove unpalatable to the taste of some, I can only plead for my excuse that it is my own, that is to say, myself. But as these thoughts were born within my heart in humble prayer to God and close communing with Nature, and as they have been clothed in outward expression with all the worshipful care and reverent affection which I can command, so do I now offer them, such as they are, to Christ, trusting that they may be vivified, by His most gentle grace, unto super natural power to bear to other hearts that suffer.
