Golden Heart invites you into a zany fairytale adventure. The story begins when a nasty witch moves into an ancient forest. All is well until the Witch finds a happy Kingdom nestled cosily at its edge. She decides the Kingdom's happiness is not something she can stomach so she starts her tricks. The Witch is forced to expand her plans when she finds the Queen has a Golden Heart, something unexpected but with a little care it could double her powers. Golden heart is written very much like one of the old familiar fairy tales yet it presents a story that is a little different. It is about understanding the spaces in love and it encourages recognition of the real self. It is also about adults enjoying the shared reading experience as much as the child. The illustrations are deliberately presented to attract the eye and give enough stimulation to fire the imagination. They encourage the reader to step back and take another look.
