Publisher's Synopsis
A severed head discarded on an Amazonian dirt road is all that remains of photographer Karl Korianiski. Three clues point to his assassination: a coded message, a secret roll of film, and a turquoise butterfly earring. Unable to trust the corrupt police, journalist Ayara Eekbo decides to investigate her beloved companion's murder herself. A young Englishman, Tom Mattin-Calbert, offers to help Ayara search for the truth. Together, they confront the dangers of a violent jungle that is inhabited by anacondas, drug traffickers and assassins, and ruled by one law: "kill or die." Travelling deeper into the forest, Tom and Ayara are drawn ever closer to each other. But what began as a hunt for justice soon becomes a desperate fight for survival.
