Greg and Dana have the travel bug at a young age and to fulfill that dream Dana becomes an US foreign diplomat which takes them to India. They pack up their worldly goods in Texas and take their young son to India to start a new life.
Dodgy workers, some fired, become part of their family while Greg is trying to work at his job that is becoming increasingly hard to manage.
Finally becoming disenchanted, he quits his job and becomes a househusband. At a certain point they decide to adopt a child from India, which comes with it's own set of troubles, but in the end very rewarding.
