Publisher's Synopsis
These poems represent the ancient Russian version of ABC-book that laid the foundation for the modern phonetic alphabet. The Glagolitic alphabet (also referred to as betony, bloomers and crisscross-row) has been reformed many times for political and religious purposes, which did not only decrease people's energy and communication precision, but also killed the imagery of letters, words and grammatical structures. The author stresses the regression of human nature, comparing the wisdom-related old ABC-book with modern social phenomena primitively expressed by the phonetic alphabet.
