This pack is a stand-alone survival level introduction to German for the business traveller and the tourist. Aimed at the beginner, the book introduces the reader to the language they will need to get by in Germany while the two cassettes encourage the user to respond to what they hear spoken.;The material on the tapes aims to reflect the German language as spoken by native German speakers and includes listening, speaking and pronunciation exercises. There is a section in both the book and the cassettes specifically aimed at the business user. The self-contained course is designed to enable holiday-makers and business people to pick up enough German to cope with everyday travel situations: finding the way, booking accommodation, ordering a meal, shopping, meeting people, making telephone calls and cancelling appointments. Just as importantly, it helps the user to understand what is said to them. The pack can also be used in conjunction with the "Get by in German Video Pack" which is available from the publishers.
