The vast majority of Peter's trips have taken place since he retired in his mid 50's in 2006. He has travelled extensively throughout Africa and Europe. He has not only travelled for pleasure but also followed his passion and volunteered in wildlife conservation in Kenya and Namibia. He also developed a second career as a wildlife photographer with his photos being used in calendars and books. This blend of travel for pleasure, as well as volunteering later in life gives Peter a unique understanding and appreciation for the roadblocks facing the mature traveller. I wrote this book because I see many people of my age sitting at home seemingly just passing time; not because they are lazy or because they don't care, but simply because they don't know how to take that first step to get up off the couch and get going. The format for this book is a little unusual but I hope it will make it easier for you to use. The book is organized around the answers to your important travel questions. I designed the book this way to give you the feel as if we were sitting together over a cup of coffee and we were discussing all the questions you need answered. I hope this book will help remove any obstacles you may have concerning starting your travel adventures later in life.
