Publisher's Synopsis

The author tackles 26 stories found in the gospel of Matthew where Jesus tells His listeners about the use of Money and Possessions. It has been said by many that Jesus talked about money more than most other topics. In this book, the author looks at the context of each of the stories in Matthew, describing the context of the story, the meaning of the words used and the concepts implied, and offers some clear applications for our lives. Along with the Biblical definition of wealth, the author talks about Jesus' understanding of life and the benefits of using possessions for good and the downside of using our riches contrary to God's plan purpose. Many of the common stories of Jesus are discussed including the Lord's Prayer, the Parable of the Sower, and the many comparisons between the kingdom of heaven and things of this life. Also explored are the phrases of Jesus like; Treasure in Heaven, an Eye for an Eye, Do unto Others, Render to Caesar, and Ask and it Will Be Given You. The question, "What must I do to inherit eternal life?" is discussed as is the controversial statement of Jesus, "The poor you have with you always." Written in an easy reading style, the author, after 40 years of study of the Bible, hopes to help people rethink the use of their money and other possessions and see the validity of following the teachings of Jesus in this area of their lives. God does not encourage us all to sell everything we own and become poor but He does ask us to leave behind the selfishness of our youth and gradually become people who understand the joy of generous living. The digital format of the book includes all 26 stories but the printed format has been divided into two books; vol. one and two. Both formats are available through Amazon.com.
