Jasper grew up in a traditional Catholic family. By age 12 he knew that he was different from all of the other boys. He attempted to come out by conducting a confession with his priest. However, he was told to that "keeping this a secret" was in his best interests. Now at age 26, Jasper has reached a place of great turmoil. Following in his father's footsteps, he completed his MBA degree at the University of Virginia and was invited to take a greater leadership role in his family's business. Jasper, has kept his romantic relationship with Gary a secret for years. However, Gary is much older and wants to start a family, marry, and to settle down.
Jasper is terrified of announcing this to his family and community. His parents have no idea of his secret gay life. His father is a macho man; a die-hard member of the Conservative Republican party and a leader of the National Rifle Administration. Over the years Jasper tried to go straight. He even engaged in conversion therapy. It did not work. His love for Gary grew even strong. "Coming out of the closet" with his family may jeopardize more than just family disappointment. As Jaspers reads through Bible scripture to look for answers he believes "God is love" and that "He loves him" but is confused on what to do? God and Gay has been a season of despair for Jasper and his lover. What choices will they make?
