Publisher's Synopsis
Corporate greed leads to the colonisation of an already inhabited distant world. The aliens can adopt the physical form of an opponent's deepest fear using it to kill them. The colony is massacred so the orbiting human navy nuke the planet. In revenge, the aliens invade Earth. To avert the war, pilot Seethan Bodell's mission is to travel into the past with his co-pilot and secret lover Rose, to prevent the original landing and stop the war from ever happening. It goes wrong, causing a tragedy later known as The Sundering, and Seethan's ship is flung into the future. The aliens win the war, claiming Earth. He wakes in his ejector seat with no sign of Rose or his vessel. Realising that technology no longer works, his desperation to find Rose is urgent - she's an android.
