Publisher's Synopsis

Readers can put down this book at any time and not lose a train of thought. Each story and poem is short, but intended to reveal a variety of inner feelings by an author who enjoys people and would like to leave hopes and pursuits for them to consider. We need humor in our day-to-day living, but the time we live in does not reflect a renaissance, nor is there peaceful satisfaction. It is the author's belief that joy and contentment have taken a leave of absence because of political upheaval and too much knowledge and too fast streaming from electronic marvels. The writing within could be lighter in earlier times or in times yet to come. Fortunately, a leave of absence suggests that which is temporary. Ms. Burton is still very much the optimist, awaiting a flourishing of the good things that are yet to come.

About the Author

Myrtle M. Burton is a lady with a strong desire to create, and has expressed her views of art in many forms. She enjoys a Fine Arts degree, and has taken advantage of an ability to paint and teach art, but writing is foremost in her choices. The only struggle she has is the conflict of creating with a desire to be enjoying social situations. One can create the original only by being alone. Therein lies the conflict.

Ms. Burton is a mother and a grandmother. She is proud to be a dual citizen of Canada and the United States. She lives
in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Canada, a habitat for another
distinguished art form: theater. "It's all connected,"
she states.
