The society of the great galactics is far from being monolithic. There are many currents that cross it despite the common belief imposing on them the search for transcendence. Indeed, transcendence obliges the great galactics to bring all the species encountered which have the potential to travel in space. The problem is that the criteria for qualifying for this aid differ. There are basically two poles. Scientists led by Tymbrimis and clerics led by Gubrus.Clashes are constant between the two groups without triggering an armed conflict. Until the discovery of the earth and the humans who have no patron race and who are about to travel into space. The Gubrus faction wants to exterminate them while the Tymbrimis befriend the humans and help them to fit into this galactic society as subtle as medieval Japan which constitutes the first galactic challenge of humanity.
