Publisher's Synopsis
Just as we eat food daily for strength, sustenance, growth, well-being and productivity, so we are much more meant to review and digest the wisdom of God every day for our strength, sustenance, growth, well-being and productivity.
In the words of the Master, "The Scriptures say, 'People need more than bread for their life; they must feed on every word of God.' "(Matthew 4: 4, NLT.) His faithful messenger also speaks on this, saying, "If you have tasted the Lord's goodness and kindness, cry for more, as a baby cries for milk. Eat God's Word - read it, think about it - and grow strong in the Lord and be saved." (1 Peter 2: 2, 3, TLB margin.) One intelligent dedicated worshipper of God encapsulates the testimony of his personal experience on this saying, "God made my life complete when I placed all the pieces before him. When I got my act together, he gave me a fresh start. Now I'm alert to God's ways; I don't take God for granted. Every day I review the ways he works; I try not to miss a trick. I feel put back together, and I'm watching my step. God rewrote the text of my life when I opened the book of my heart to his eyes." (Psalms 18: 20-24 TM.) This capacity building is the root of gainful living. As king Solomon puts it, "Have two goals: wisdom-that is, knowing and doing right-and common sense). Don't let them slip away, for they fill you with living energy and bring you honour and respect. They keep you safe from defeat and disaster and from stumbling off the trail. With them on guard you can sleep without fear; you need not be afraid of disaster or the plots of wicked men, for the Lord is with you; he protects you." (Proverbs 3: 21-26.) One great book God gives us to help us do this excellently is the Holy Bible, also referred to as the Holy Scriptures. Its purpose is, "to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It straightens us out and teaches us to do what is right. It is God's way of preparing us in every way, fully equipped for every good thing God wants us to do." (2 Timothy 3: 16-17.) The purpose of this book is to provide a plain and well-focused arrangement of these capacity-building insights that will boost our daily capacity-building reviews. Enrich your life with it, to the glory of God.
