Publisher's Synopsis

The author is an American military historian who has produced an analysis of where a number of large-scale conventional wars might happen, how they would be fought and who will win. The book is a product of the strategic forecasting group that foresaw the course and outcome of the Gulf War - before it occurred - as well as the low allied casualties. For this forecast they used computerized simulation that permits sophisticated modelling of a variety of possible future situations with a proven accuracy of over 90 per cent. Wars covered include: Soviet civil war (to include the conflict in the Baltics); Central American regional conflict; conflict in the Balkans; Libya-Egypt conflict(with Chad and the Sudan joining Libya; renewed conflict in the Gulf - US and Allies versus Iran; and India-Pakistan conflict, possibly precipitated by Kashmiri revolt.
