Michael Lampman volunteered for service with the Australian infantry forces in 1967 when he was aged twenty years. He was told that seeing how he was under 21, he would need the signed approval of his parents before he could join, yet the Australian Government was drafting men aged twenty if they wanted to serve or not. He altered the date of birth and was then in the army. 45 years later, immigration found out and he lost his citizenship and it took three years before he got it back by applying Engineering Problem Solving Techniques, this was successful.
