Annie and Sean Devlin are happily married, living in their dream house at the foot of the Cave Hill. But then a telegram arrives, telling them that Annie's sister, Rosaleen, is coming home from Canada for a visit - and the storm clouds begin to gather. Annie is full of misgivings about the reunion with her beautiful sister: many years before Rosaleen and Sean had a brief affair, which resulted in the birth of a son, about whom Sean has no idea.
