FROM THE AUTHOR In 2002 I started translating the poetry of Joseph von Eichendorff. I would meet with dad at the library and we would work on the translations together. Dad knew all sorts of techniques of rhythm and tone which not only helped me with the translations but with my own poetry that I was writing as well. In 2009 I published two translations, "Fall Magic" and "The Durande Castle," which were combinations of poems and a short story. This volume contains two novellas: "From the Life of a Loafer" and "The Statue."
