Publisher's Synopsis
The Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences of the Pázmány Péter Catholic University also offers archaeological education and training courses. Conforming to the university's overall profile and mission, the Department of Archaeology - the fifth to be founded in Hungary - strives to train archaeologists specializing in the centuries from the emergence of Christianity to the Early Modern Age as well as to conduct research on the same period in Hungary and abroad. In 2017, the institutional framework was expanded and the Institute of Archaeology was founded with four departments. The practice-oriented training is closely intertwined with the research interests of our Institute's specialists. This volume is intended in part as a stocktaking of what we have accomplished and in part as a presentation of our educational work and our publications for the broader public. It is our hope that the present volume will offer an enjoyable overview of our research projects and educational activities to our readers.
