Friends Family and Others is a humorous look at love, family and relationships seen from the view of different people of different ages, and how they view friends family and relationships differently, but are they happy? This book takes these characters into different situations which consist of six different short stories. In the first story (The Dinner). Jeremy and Lisa have decided to have their in-laws over for dinner for the first time since they got married, and it does not take long before chaos quickly comes to dinner and stays for dessert. The second story (The Country Trip). Takes Jeremy. Lisa. Brandon and Ricky on a day out in the country, however, Ricky is having a bad day because he cannot find his lip balm and Brandon will not share his coconut cream with him, so he can have soft hands. The third story (The West: A Fiction Short Story). Takes everyone back to the year 1871, where Jeremy has decided to have a play to raise money for charity to bring back business into Ricky's saloon, but it is not long before Jeremy sees that Ricky. Brandon and Lisa are not understanding how a play would work, so, they decide to have a pie contest instead to raise money, except the townspeople get jealous of each other's pie, all five pies in a town of 39 people. The fourth story puts Ricky in a serious role as he struggles to get through the loss of his boyfriend. The Fifth Story is a flashback to the year 1975 when Liza meets George for the first time and they discover after 15 years of marriage they are going to have a son, who turns out to be Jeremy. The sixth story has Lisa stepping back and wondering what it would be like to live in a perfect world with no violence and where everyone is treated equal along with perfect in-laws that do not complain.
