Publisher's Synopsis

The Berlin Conference held from November 15, 1884 to February 26, 1885, allowed Westerners to colonize the territories of the Third World. By the middle of the 20th century, the colonized were independent and now sovereign states. However, the former British colonies are performing well compared to those of the French-speaking African zone. May 28, 2021 is marked by the coup of Colonel Assimi Goïta in Mali. Later, on September 10, 2021, Colonel Mamady Doumbouya seized power in Guinné-Conakry. On January 24, 2022, Lieutenant-Colonel Paul-Henri Sandaogo Damiba controls Burkina Faso. In view of this impasse, it remains to be seen whether these states would like to be completely free of France or be supported by the former colonial power and the European Union.
