In Fortress of the Fallen, a medieval lawman, named Gideon, forsakes a personal quest of vengeance in order to help a beautiful sorceress save a group of orphans from the clutches of a necromancer.
Accompanied by an unlikely pair of elves--one a swaggering, high-born mage-priest, and the other a grim Surtari warrior--the heroes must face supernatural fiends as they journey to an ancient and unearthly fortress to confront the necromancer. And unbeknownst to him, old enemies are closing in on Gideon.
To make matters worse, once the heroes arrive at their destination, Gideon discovers that he himself may not be entirely human--and that the original inhabitants of the fortress, a long-forgotten race of demons, are closer than they think.
