Publisher's Synopsis
Excerpt from Foreign Crops and Markets, Vol. 69: November 15, 1954
Principal customers for Malayan coconut oil in the january-june period were Burma, China, and India, while western Eur0pe-mainly Italy, Western Germany, the Netherlands, and Sweden-absorbed only one-third of the 38, h5l long tons exported. China, by far the outstanding buyer of crude Malayan coconut oil in l95h, made purchases of over million dollars, either for consumption or soap manufacture. Continuance of this intensified demand, which began late in 1953, remains uncertain. The United States purchases its coconut oil largely from.the Philippines.
