This melon is light cream color, changing to a more yellowish cream as it ripens; grows to weigh 7 to 8 pounds nearly perfectly round, perhaps slightly oval. Flesh is very deep green. Wonderfully sweet and luscious, with a fine fragrance. The grain of the ?esh is not overly fine. The growth of the vine is more rugged than the ordinary Cantaloupe; the leaf is broader and heavier. It ripens about a week later than the ordinary type of Rocky Ford melon. The fruits can be kept for two months. Pkt. 6c., oz. L5c.. M lb. 40c.
Emerald Gem. Very early; smooth skin, emerald green; ?esh salmon-color, ripening right to the rind; sweet luscious ?avor; vines hardy, thrifty, and prolific. Pkt.
