"For my love of Music" is the autobiography of Elmer Oscar Armstrong, Jr. It is a true, and very riviting, story about the life and times, of one of Motowns best, and most prolific, 'R and B' singers and songwriters. Elmer worked with 'Mr. Motown' himself, Berry Gordy, his very tallented son, Kerry Gordy, the incomperable Smokey Robinson, the Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin, Ms. Diana Ross, Mr. Marvin Gaye, Lou Rouls, and many, many more.
Elmer is one of the most proficient as well as captivating, singers/songwriters in the long, and very sucessful history of Motown Music. He was born and raised in Dayton, Ohio, but he grew up in the Hood, in south Central Los Angeles, California. His father was a 'gangsta, ' and he was quite the man.
Elmer grew up listening to Motown music, and especially the Platters. He eventually became a member of the super sucessful R & B group, and then in later years, he purchased the right to the name, "The Platters Tribute Band."
Elmer still writes, sings, and performs even to this very day.
