Triple bill of 1970s and '80s musicals and dance films. In 'Footloose' (1984) Ren McCormick (Kevin Bacon) is a city kid who moves to a Bible Belt town where dancing is banned by the local hell-fire preacher. Ren defiantly hoofs away in a series of spectacular sequences. The title song was nominated for an Oscar and the film also features the track 'Let's Hear It for the Boy'. In 'Flashdance' (1983) Alex Owens (Jennifer Beals) is an 18-year-old welder from Pittsburgh whose one ambition is to become a professional ballerina at the Conservatory of Dance. In the meantime, Alex is forced to work as a cabaret artist in the evenings, struggling against the odds to achieve her dream. In 'Grease' (1978), after their summer romance ends, Danny (John Travolta) and Sandy (Olivia Newton-John) are unexpectedly reunited at high school when the latter moves to Danny's town. However, their relationship stalls when it becomes apparent that Sandy is not 'cool' enough to date gang leader Danny. The hit songs include 'You're the One That I Want' and 'Greased Lightning'.
