Synopsis
The story revolves around simple folks living in the vicinity of an old, large and famous municipal cemetery in Central Manila. It's called La Loma Cemetery. Some folks have lived adjacent to the high fence of the cemetery for many generations due to necessary work involved in taking care of this government cemetery or serving the families of individual burial ground or stones, niches or vaults.
Numerous jobs were available that the residences have become congested due to influx of people and the need for city spaces to house worker's families, boarders, and visitors. Usually, these people are transients from the provinces, but some were the old pioneer workers, whose ancestors were the original caretakers. (More inside the book)
