Johann Joachim Quantz's Concerto for Flute in G major QV 5: 182 is presented here in an edition by Klaus Burmeister for flute and piano. Quantz (1697-1773) was an extremely prolific composer for the flute, writing about 300 concertos plus a number of sonatas and trios. This concerto, written for flute, bassoon (ad lib.), strings and basso continuo, appeared in 1769 as one of the few flute concertos to be supplemented by a second solo instrument in the slow movement - here either bassoon or viola.
Johann Joachim Quantz' Konzert für Flöte in G-Dur QV 5: 182 wird hier in einer Ausgabe von Klaus Burmeister für Flöte und Klavier vorgelegt. Quantz (1697-1773) war ein äußerst produktiver Komponist für Flöte, der etwa 300 Konzerte sowie eine Reihe von Sonaten und Trios schrieb. Das vorliegende Konzert für Flöte, Fagott (ad lib.), Streicher und Basso continuo erschien 1769 als eines der wenigen Flötenkonzerte, das im langsamen Satz durch ein zweites Soloinstrument - hier entweder Fagott oder Bratsche - ergänzt wurde.
