Publisher's Synopsis

Based on a study by the Asian Centre of Kobe (AVICK), with assistance from the United States Population Fund (UNFPA), to address the question of how Asian cities will manage their revolutionary population-environment dynamics in the future. The study covers the cities of Faisalabad, Pakistan; Khon Kaen, Thailand; Cebu City, The Philippines; Pusan, South Korea and Kobe, Japan. Using a distinctive dynamic modelling approach, the book addresses questions pertaining to the population dynamics approach with reference to the period between 1970 and 2020.
