Ian Walton was born in Leicester in 1951. Expelled from the City of Leicester Boys' School at the age of 12 he continued his education at a local Secondary Modern.

At 17 he joined the Merchant Navy and travelled extensively while working as a cook. The rest of his life has included - Editorship of several Leisure Magazines, running his own business, and selling advertising.

Ian has lived in many areas of Britain, from Devon to the highlands of Scotland, including

a spell in London (with his wife and daughter) as a homeless family.
