Publisher's Synopsis
The third edition of First Steps in Retail Management endeavours to cover all of the new responsibilities that individuals will have as a manager in a retail environment, as well as to extend the information covered in First Steps in a Retail Career, third edition. The text has been revamped to cover the new SIR007 package at level III and into IV. Together the two books fully cover the National Retail Competencies for levels 11 and 111. Where appropriate and to avoid duplication, references are made to First Steps in a Retail Career, third edition for competency coverage. The chapters have been revised and updated and now include a best practice checklist. The competencies in this text extend to AQF Levels 3 and 4. The knowledge and skills information as well as the activities and assessments in the text have been designed to provide a platform from which to achieve and develop the identified retail competencies. Other available information and documents relevant to this and other chapters within this text are listed in 'Further Reading and Resource' materials at the end of each chapter.
