This first edition of the "Fire Service Training Manual" replaces the "Fire Service Drill Book", published in 1985. A loose-leaf format has been introduced to make alterations easier and quicker by the issue of new pages or sections when required. All pages of the manual are dated and when amendments or extra pages are published their addition can be noted on the amendment record page provided.;The manual encompasses more than a prescription for the basic elements of fire service "drill", and has been designed to include the components essential to a training framework which deals with foundation training, progression development and the maintenance of competence. Together with the "Manual of Firemanship" it should provide the foundation necessary for members of the service to learn, or teach, the essential core of knowledge and techniques.
