Publisher's Synopsis
This volume examines Giovanni Pascoli's Italian anthologies Sul limitar and Fiore da fiore, focusing on two operational directions: comparison and translation. The investigation sheds light on Pascoli's updating of the cultural temperament coeval with him and his fine skill as a translator, and allows for a privileged snapshot of his lyrical workshop. The transcription and analysis of some preparatory materials found in an unpublished workbook complete the volume.
