Publisher's Synopsis
In recent years, significant strides have been made in understanding benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) and finding nonsurgical alternatives for its treatment. This volume highlights the current knowledge of the disease process, including papers on the pathophysiology and aetiology of BPH. It also looks at important forms of treatment, in particular the efficacy of Finasteride, a new 5-alpha reductase inhibitor which acts selectively on the prostate and thereby leads to significantly fewer side-effects.
