Publisher's Synopsis
Foetal monitoring involves assessment and surveillance of the condition of the foetus during pregnancy and labour. Appropriate interpretation of the information requires an understanding of the methods used and knowledge of the predictive ability of the test for a particular outcome measure. The field of foetal monitoring continues to change and, whilst certain principles and practices are becoming well-established, others are being developed or modified. This volume covers the physiology of the foetus and goes on to discuss the methods used in monitoring and the analysis of the results.
