This book presents a photographic record of the various modes of transport serving the many beautiful islands of Scotland and also its links with Ireland and mainland Europe. The book brings together an outstanding collection of photographs from around Scotland, ranging from Loch Ryan, the Clyde and West Highlands to Orkney, Shetland and the East coast as far south as the Firth of Forth. Both authors have been ship photographers for over 30 years. Whilst the publication concentrates on the current fleet of ships, it also includes many historic views together with contributions from other shipping photographers in Scotland. The book includes a selection of easy-to-read maps to assist the reader and includes detailed information on the main operators for reference for travellers.
