Publisher's Synopsis

Excerpt from Federal Prohibition as Applied to the Territory of Hawaii: Argument of John G. Woolley, With Explanatory Statement of the Anti-Saloon League of America; Filed With the Senate Committee on Public Islands and Porto Rico and the House Committee on Territories, February, 1911

If the liquor question here were a merely local one, there would be no need of appealing to Congress. But it is National. The great liquor power of the Nation has decreed the subjugation of Hawaii and only the greater power of the Nation incarnated in Con gress can save us from the consequences. Beyond this one law, we do not need Congress to legislate for us.
