Publisher's Synopsis
A series of papers presented on the subject of fathers and fatherhood at the Father Figures conference held in September 1994 in Glasgow. The papers contain personal experiences of fathers and fatherhood in addition to observations and analysis on the current status of fathers in the United Kingdom and Europe as a whole. It explores the issues relating to fatherhood from the perspective of fathers themselves and society as a whole through the press, as well as examining young people's views and expectations of fatherhood.
