Publisher's Synopsis
When Dan Tallow, a drifter, wins the deeds to a farm in a card game he thinks his troubles are over. However, arriving in the Montana valley where his new home will be, he has to step in to stop a lynching. His intervention makes an enemy of Mame Rockton, the valley's big rancher. She has Tallow framed for the murder of a US marshal who arrives to investigate the spate of Rockton crimes. But Tallow has a determined ally in Hymie Goldberg, the young man he saved from being lynched.
