Fast Forward Writing: Level 3 to Level 4 is designed to secure the writing skills of pupils at Level 3 and develop them into Level 4. The focus is exclusively on writing.
This resource is unique in tackling the hardest element of writing: how meanings are shaped into sentences and paragraphs. Pupils will acquire strengthened skills of expression, sentence construction and effective use of language.
The resource has five sections: 'Shaping sentences', 'Grabbing the reader', 'Telling', 'Dressing up in a voice' and 'Writing on demand', which are each subdivided into masterclasses such as 'Telling by showing' and 'Ending sentences'. These masterclasses constitute one or two substantial lessons and an assessment piece.
Ideal for catch-up work, Fast Forward Writing: Level 3 to Level 4 can be used as five mini-schemes of work on writing for a whole class, or as a series of weekly masterclasses.
Each masterclass is linked to specific objectives for each year and a strategy-compatible page plan is provided. There are also pages of advice for parents, as well as pupils.
Fast Forward Writing: Level 3 to Level 4 can be used as a companion text for the highly popular Fast Forward: Level 3 to Level 4, which focuses on developing the literacy skills of pupils from Level 3 up to Level 4.
