Publisher's Synopsis

In colour and sepia photos from other enthusiasts and from his own family collection in his usual style our Yorkshire born and bred author looks at these two interesting companies. Farsley, named after its hometown near Leeds, came into being as such in 1927. It only had one route although this was gradually extended in length. In terms of photos of the buses these start in the late 1940s to 1967 and shortly before Farsley closed in March 1968. Kippax & District Motor Co. was founded in 1924 as the Yellow Bus Service by the Watson Brothers running a service between Kippax and Leeds. In 1956 the company was bought by the Barr and Wallace Arnold Trust and Kippax continued as a subsidiary. As well as outlining the history the book contains a route map and a photographic study of the fleet.
