Publisher's Synopsis
Fanny Mendelssohn Hensel (1805-1847) was a prodigiously talented composer and pianist, with an oeuvre spanning over 460 compositions. Hensel composed this 20-minute, four-movement piano work in the fall of 1843. It would be her last major solo piano composition before her early death in 1847. This German Romantic-era sonata is a brilliant example of the genre, from a composer experiencing a renaissance two centuries after her time.
