Winter Rye is now beginning to be largely grown in all southern states, and is mostly used there for fall and spring pasturage, green fodder and green manuring. For grain it is mostly planted in the northern states and Wisconsin raises more Rye than any other state of the union, Michigan is second and Minnesota third.
