Publisher's Synopsis
Being diagnosed with any kind of cancer is devastating and many times life threatening. It changes your world and knocks you off your feet. It not only affects your physical state but your emotional as well. But there is always hope in times of darkness and a light at the end of the tunnel.
After being diagnosed with breast cancer in December 2006, and having a bilateral mastectomy with reconstruction, I thought cancer was long behind me. But, I was in for a rude awakening as cancer struck once again in 2020, this time on my face. Nothing can prepare you for the challenges, the heart break, and emotional upheaval that comes from experiencing a butchered up face. This is my personal story of walking through facial cancer. And, also during this same time, I was having to deal with a silent rupture of one of my breast implants.
This book started out about my facial cancer experience but it soon evolved into being the sequel of my first book, "Memoirs of a Boobless Woman". My journey has come full circle. It also includes my deliverance off of pain meds after 16 years. I hope it will encourage and give hope to anyone who is facing cancer or addiction, whatever type it may be.
