When Clark Kent and Lois Lane, star reporters for the Metropolis Daily Planet were assigned to write a story on the deepest oil well ever drilled they little realized what was going to happen. In the darkness of the night, two strange, furry creatures half human, half animal, crawled out of the abandoned well shaft. - This work is an Anthony Koontz artistic experimentation, a colorized comic fanzine version of Superman and the Mole Men, an independent 1951 black and white American superhero film released by Lippert Pictures. Produced by Barney A. Sarecky and directed by Lee Sholem, it stars George Reeves as Superman and Phyllis Coates as Lois Lane. It is the first film based on any DC Comics character. Superman was created by writer Jerry Siegel and artist Joe Shuster, and appeared for the first time in Action Comics # 1 (1938).
