Our God is a promise keeping God. He told Abraham to leave behind his country, his people, and his father's household (Genesis 12:1) and travel to an unknown land. Abraham obeyed, even though he had no idea where he was going (Hebrews 11:6). God also told Abraham his name would be great, he would leave behind a great legacy, and all nations on earth would be blessed through him (Genesis 12:3). Abraham and Sarah were well beyond childbearing years, yet God promised Abraham his descendants would be as numerous as the stars in the sky and sand on seashore. God kept those promises and it is through Abraham's descendant, Jesus Christ, that all nations are blessed through faith.
