Publisher's Synopsis
Everyone looks at the dirt. Looks away from the bright, cheerful sun, the blue sky, the scenery. They try not to notice how pleasant the weather is. How well rested they are. How good breakfast tasted. They try not to think about how glad they were that it's not them. That it's not their bodies, dead, on the ground. They try not to think about their happy, successful families. But, they can't. They can't stop the flood of gratitude for simply being alive. So, they stare at the ground and try to look somber and mournful.
