Publisher's Synopsis
Many children in primary school who are defined as having special needs have difficulties in the acqusition and development of literacy skills. Teachers are faced with the dilemma of how to achieve a balance between developing basic skills on the one hand and ensuring breadth of curriculum on the other. This book shows that the teaching of expressive arts (art, creative writing, drama, music, oracy, dance and physical education) can enrich and improve the education of children with learning difficulties, through creative self-expression.
