The experiences of families of prisoners and gender and justice are growing fields and this book addresses both. It contributes to these fields in new and original ways through the focus on aspects of intersectionality and previously ignored populations (e.g. LGBTQ) or subjects (e.g. women perpetrated intimate partner violence). It represents a significant original contribution to the field through its ability to pull together a wide range of authors who speak not only from an academic viewpoint but also draws on practitioner perspectives and those with lived experience.
