Publisher's Synopsis

Excerpt from Exotic Woody Plants of Shiloh National Military Park, Tennessee: A Population Survey of Aggressive Species

The purpose of this study was to survey the established woody exotics at Shiloh National Military Park, Hardin County, Tennessee. This survey is part of a recent effort to assess the flora and vegetation at Shiloh.

Jones and White (1981) reported and discussed the vascular flora of the park. A list of exotics collected at Shiloh is herein reproduced from that report as Appendix I. They reported 77 exotic species percent of Shiloh's vascular flora), including 18 woody and 59 herbaceous plants. The present study sought to document the population status of the most aggressive woody species. Woody species were chosen because they have the potential to be conspicuous, long - lived dominants in the Shiloh region.
